Product Description
Rail shoulder is cast in the concrete rail ties to fix the elastic rail clips. There are two types of rail shoulders available, the cast-in shoulder and the weld-on shoulder, both of which are used for the fixing of elastic rail clips. The casting shoulders as the embedded part of the rail way fastening system are pressed in concrete sleeper and work together with the E clip to fasten the rail.

Cast-in vs Weld-on Shoulders
Cast-in Rail Shoulder: These are embedded parts of the railway fastening system, pressed into concrete sleepers. They are made by casting iron according to international standards such as ISO1038, DIN 1693, and JIS G5502.
Weld-on Rail Shoulder: Used where the shoulder is welded onto flat steel plates. These are typically hot forged and fabricated according to AREA standards using low or medium carbon steel.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the primary function of a rail shoulder?
The rail shoulder is used to fix elastic rail clips to the base plate or concrete ties, ensuring the rail remains securely fastened within the railway system.
What are the main types of rail shoulders available?
There are two primary types: Cast-in shoulders, which are embedded in concrete sleepers, and Weld-on shoulders, which are welded onto steel plates or sections.
What materials are commonly used for casting shoulders?
They are typically made from ductile iron grades like QT400-15, QT450-10, and QT500-7, complying with international standards like GB/T 1348 or DIN 1693.
When are weld-on shoulders preferred?
Weld-on shoulders are preferred for switch and crossing layouts or specific fabrications where vertical rail geometry is required and standard tie plates cannot be used.
What is the daily production capacity for these components?
The production facility has a high capacity of approximately 20,000 pieces per day to meet large-scale railway construction demands.
Are the shoulders compatible with different rail weights?
Yes, they are designed to be compatible with various rail types including UIC54, UIC60, 115RE, and 50kg/60kg rails depending on the specific model.
